Swissgenetics manages bull studs for artificial insemination programmes of national cattle breeding associations in Switzerland. SAFOSO advised Swissgenetics on optimising staff biosecurity during a project to re-model one of their bull stations. The aspects included were protective measures against pathogen transfer, including protective clothing, showering, down-time, and efficiency of the operation. The results were presented to the authorities and accepted as a basis for future safe operation of the stud.
