December 17, 2025

SAFOSO participated in the first edition of the VETTECH Conference, held in the first week of December in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. This important regional event focused on the future of veterinary biotechnology, exploring how technological innovation can be leveraged to address key One Health–related challenges.

The two-day conference was organized through a collaboration between the National Livestock &Fisheries Development Program (NLFDP), the Saudi Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture (MEWA), and the TAFS Forum. The event brought together over 200 participants, including national authorities, regional stakeholders, and international experts committed to innovation, sustainable development, and strengthening the resilience of livestock production systems.

A major highlight of the conference was the official celebration marking signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between SAFOSO and NLFDP, to strengthen disease prevention efforts in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The signing ceremony took place in the presence of His Excellency Dr. Ali Al-Sheikhi, Assistant Undersecretary for Livestock and Fisheries, with Waleed Al Salem representing NLFDP and Patrik Buholzer representing SAFOSO.

In addition, Patrik Buholzer and Ueli Khim participated as invited speakers, and SAFOSO hosted a booth at the conference, engaging in valuable discussions with stakeholders from across the Kingdom and the GCC region.

The entire SAFOSO team extends its sincere thanks to the NLFDP and MEWA for their warm hospitality and looks forward to further strengthening this collaboration
