Violeta works on international research and consultancy projects, focused on animal health and food safety. She joined SAFOSO in 2017. Her special interest is in antimicrobial resistance and zoonotic diseases, interlinking human and animal health from a “One Health”perspective.
Violeta graduated in Veterinary Sciences from Complutense University of Madrid in 2015. During her degree, she did an Erasmus at the École Vétérinaire de Nantes, France, and carried out several internships in bacteriology and virology laboratories (Complutense University of Madrid and Université de Liège). She completed an MSc in Public Health from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, UK, in 2017.
Post-graduation, she undertook an Erasmus-funded internship at the Agri-Food and Biosciences Institute (AFBI, Belfast, UK) where she gained experience in antimicrobial resistance, disease control and prevention measures in livestock.
