The following examples illustrate the continuing active collaboration between the Royal Veterinary College and SAFOSO. A major focus of activity has been the development of risk-based meat inspection, including the use of on-farm information for risk classification (EFSA, FSA). Further activities include the review of risks of antimicrobial usage in food production (FAO, OECD). We have also collaborated in several research consortia funded by the European Union’s FP7 Programme (RISKSUR, ASFORCE) and European networks (NEAT, NEOH). We are conducting joint PhD and Masters projects (e.g. surveillance in a One Health, risk assessment of Coxiella burnetii).
